Malba celebrates its 25th anniversary by renewing its collection

The exhibition includes emblematic pieces by artists such as Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, Tarsila do Amaral, and Antonio Berni, and incorporates recently acquired works—many of them difficult to find on the market—following the addition of the Daros Collection. Curated by María Amalia García, Alejandra Aguado, and Nancy Rojas, the show offers a survey of milestones that shaped the artistic identity of the region.

Beyond the exhibition, the anniversary also features initiatives such as a parallel show at Malba Puertos, the publication of a book on the collection, and an international gala where a museum expansion project will be unveiled. The display highlights iconic works such as Abaporú by Tarsila do Amaral and Manifestación by Antonio Berni, alongside pieces by artists including Xul Solar, Remedios Varo, and Hélio Oiticica, placing different movements and historical moments in dialogue. Overall, the exhibition offers a perspective on the evolution of Latin American art, emphasizing its originality and its connection to the region’s cultural identities.
