Since its debut in 2006, it has established itself as the leading global event dedicated to artists’ books, bringing together thousands of participants from around the world. Over four days, it will gather independent and institutional publishers, antiquarian booksellers, galleries, nonprofit spaces, and a vibrant zine scene, accompanied by a program of launches, talks, exhibitions, music, and workshops.

The 2026 edition will be particularly significant as it coincides with the 50th anniversary of both Printed Matter and MoMA PS1. As the driving force behind the New York and Los Angeles fairs, the organization continues to strengthen independent publishing globally through distribution platforms, programs, and funding initiatives. In this new edition, the fair reinforces its commitment to publishers, revisits the history of the artists’ book, and explores new ways to expand its reach to ever wider audiences. The fair will take place from September 25 to 27, with a special opening on Thursday, September 24, from 7 to 10 PM.
