When design and art merge

For decades, the boundary between objects that belong to the world of design and those that belong to the world of art has been debated. In general terms, the argument has held that design prioritizes the utility or functionality of these objects, while art implies a purely aesthetic contemplation of them (an extreme oversimplification).

That said, Simon Dupety disrupts this dichotomy by proposing industrial objects that break from their original function and instead become unique works of art. Among his most original creations are steel chairs carefully shaped into flowers, pitchers that become decorative vases, and lamps designed with oak acorns.
His creative studio, Simon +, has collaborated with major brands and recognized figures such as Charlotte Taylor, Beyoncé, Loewe, Nike, Adidas, CNRS, Petite Friture, and Balenciaga, among others.
